COMMUNICATIONS CENTER

MedComm

Successfully transporting patients from beside-to-beside or from the scene of an accident with the best communication process and training possible is key to successful patient transfer.  At MedFlight, we incorporate this philosophy into our daily operations with our Communications Center, which we call MedComm.

Our MedComm team arranges patient transports safely and rapidly for you. To enhance our services, while decreasing our response time, we offer a team consisting of experienced professionals who are on hand 24-hours a day when you call. More importantly, many of these highly trained people are public safety communicators, firefighters, EMS, and hospital professionals with many years of patient care experience. In addition, their professional attitude and desire to assist you is second to none. Like our medical crews, medical control physicians are accessible to our MedComm team at any time. Within minutes, you can have our MedComm team dispatch any of our air and ground vehicles by simply calling 1-800-222-LIFE (5433).  When possible, we encourage pre-arranged transport requests to offer you even greater response times when patients are in need.

Serving Our Customers

Customer service is our top priority! We are proud to offer our valued customers a full service commitment to assist with your patient transport need.  One way we achieve our commitment is by operating with a “One Call Does It All” approach.  No matter what, we will assist you in finding transportation for your patient, whether it is providing MedFlight resource options or by making alternate arrangements with other programs outside of our organization.  MedComm works extremely close with E911 Law, Fire and EMS Dispatch Centers, hospital transfer/triage centers to provide the most efficient process possible.

The MedComm Team

Our Communications Specialists have numerous years of prior experience and once hired they must complete an extensive three month training program and are required to successfully obtain the Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification provided by the National Association of Air Medical Communication Specialist (NAACS).
